No big deal for many of you but I was actually a little surprised to find this bad boy in my mail box a few days ago. I just saw it in my drawer and thought I share!

You're not actually going to signup for it, are you? There are other cards with the same annual fee or less that offer MUCH better rewards and benefits.

Of course not! lol
I just don't see how can someone justify such fee without making close to or more than 7 figures, But that is just my opinion. Btw it's a Visa Signature and I'm not to Happy with them!

I have Platinum which is 450 a year, and I don't even make close to 6 figures let alone 7. Luckily I only have to justify the cost to me, but to me it's worth it.

That makes me feel better :-)

I was trying to justify the Platinum myself but I do think I'll use it enough to break even

I Don't travel enough to get 4 digits of value out of it like I see others do online

In the end, still glad I got it and will see if I can stomach the annual fee next year :-)
- Amex Platinum (primary)
- Citi Double Cash (backup)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve (just to get the bonus, closing in 2017)

It looked to me like a CSP with a much higher fee. Aside from aesthetics, are there any features other than the 'concierge services' that fans of the Black Card point at to justify the AF?

For a heavy traveler, especially one who flies to and from Dallas/Fort Worth a lot, I can see how $450 would be an absolute bargain. It's not about rewards on the spending, but access and upgrades. For flying in comfort on a regular basis, I can see the value.

I just don't see what the 'points of pride' are for Black Card holders. What features do they see that they assign great value to, regardless of the actual value of those perks? Maybe it really is just the fact that it could be confused for a Centurion or that Barclays got the trademark on Black Card before Amex did. The Black Card has some nice perks, I suppose, but if I had to look at the terms and guess the AF, I'd think it would be closer to $50 or $100 than $495.
