Be very careful of what you say there if you decide to post - what flies here will get you banned over there. Unless you are one of the mod's pets, then you can savage the living hell out of whoever you think is an idiot and it's ok.

It is different. I've honestly learned a lot over there, but there is this element of strangeness to it. They probably come over here and think what a bunch of freaks we are too.

I think most of the post count are accumulated by "congrats" on myfico.com. one person reports success, then you get at least 5 pages of post with just "congrats"

gotta read the actual content from different situations to see if a poster is really knowledgeable or something else

There are people on there with thousands of posts, and as supercoolman said, 99% of them are "Congrats +1". Wow that's some real insight being contributed there, and is almost as meaningful as "Will I get approved for an Amex?"

I found that annoying as hell too. You get one post saying "Wow I got this card" and then 50 idiots add 5 more pages of "Congrats man!" I think one or two congrats ought to convey the message. I've learned once the "congrats" barrage starts to just move on and save going through page after page of it.

By the way, about finding the site - "Congrats +1!!!!!!!!!!!"

Valid points being raised all around gentlemen. I'll keep that in mind next time I visit that forum and post something though when someone gets a card that I really want or that I already have, I will still generally congratulate them over there. Perhaps I should cut down on that. I'm just glad that place isn't the only website I can really get information from. There's also Credit Boards but I've never gone there before so I wouldn't know.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)

I'll have to take a look at that sometime and add that part of the website to my bookmarks. Interesting.

FT proly has more info than all other forums combined. Finding it is the problem.
Sapphire Reserve: travel & dining
Blue Cash Preferred: groceries & gas
Freedom: 5% cats
Double Cash: everything else

Same here, that database is definitely useful. Credit Boards forums can also be useful, however, they are frowned upon/looked down upon from the folks at MyFICO. The FICO'ers don't approve of some of the tactics used and recommended at CB.

Flyer Talk is also very good, particularly for travel information. Haven't been there in a while, but they generally don't allow/tolerate those "Magic 8 Ball" questions -- Should I apply.... Will I get... Should I cancel... yada yada yada...
