I've stayed in the Garden I have not had a single inquiry since mortgage pre-approval in May. Prior to that the last credit card I got was in March.

Presently if I think a mortgage is likely, and I'm really having deep second thoughts on the whole thing though I know renting is a fool's game, then I can't app for anything but there isn't anything I am even remotely interested in other than POSSIBLY the Amex HHonors card as I stayed in the Hilton for my last trip (just got back yesterday and will have to go back again soon I'm sure) and I could see using that. But that is it. I'm going to look into the card but not sure.

Otherwise that's all she wrote!

I'd be happy to review your Hilton HHorrors application.....
Poke me and I will F/R you

You can enter it with a set desire to garden for a time (and this will whiten your teeth in your sleep, cure cancer, and make you a real stallion with the wife) or simply not see anything you want to apply for and be in the garden as a result.

but garden becomes dirt when a drought comes by.

what I mean was that everyone always enter garden unintentional or intentional if the meaning of garden is to not app for any TL for a duration of time.

Yes, but to truly comprehend the meaning of the garden, it is zen, it is the peak of knowing what you were born to do. When you have truly embraced the concept of gardening, you can levitate in mid air, and you get x-ray vision like Superman has.

I have not seen anyone flying around with x-ray vision or infrared beaming. guess no one has done it yet

Yeah me either, but all we can do is be patient as gardening is the most noble thing one can do.

If it counts as "gardening", I haven't applied for anything else since last month....but in like four or five months, I will be apping yet again and closing or putting cards I don't use much in the sockdrawer. Got plenty of inquiries but still able to get most of the cards I wanted in less than a year of establishing credit.

I sometimes post in the real Gardening club thread over at MyFico and there and I can definitely agree that there's too much emphasis on that kind of thing but I just play it safe so I don't get in trouble there because sometimes there is some useful info here and there. I mean two years just to get a Diamond Spade is overkill IMO but that's just me.

well, someone told me that if a man reach his 30 without ever had a girl friend, he becomes wizard and can do real magic. a small group of people tried to do that and it had became a cult.

has anyone seen a real wizard?

I scratched my itch and got an AmEx Everyday with a CL of $10,000. I figured if I got denied, it's a soft inquiry so its not a big deal, and if I got accepted, it was worth the hard pull for a second AmEx card with great rewards. I'm thinking of PCing it to a BCE, but that's not for certain. I've got a total of four inquiries total for all three bureaus, so I'm back in the garden for a while. No new apps until 2015, gotta let my score recover from the AAoA drop. At least now I can have any new AmEx cards backdated, which is pretty awesome.
