Need help with old Orchard Bank Mastercard ...

Postby japalena » Fri Jun 06, 2014 12:45 pm

Been receiving private calls from Premier Services. Answered and they are urging me to call RG & Associates at a 323 number. Called RG & Associates and they are a CA with an in-house attorney. Person I spoke with said they needed to verify my address so they can send me the lawsuit against me with court dates, etc. Said the Attorney has the file on his desk and may accept a settlement. Came back and said 1100, 500 less than original amount. Account opened in 2007. Stopped making payments in Nov. 2009. Original balance was in 300 range.

Cap One no longer has Orchard Bank charge offs .... That's what HSBC said. They took them back. Customer service rep could not pull up my account. Wanted to take a message and have the back office call me in 3-5 days. I know I owe the original debt and would like to work something out but RG & *Associates won't provide verification of debt. Said the mailed three letters, I never saw them.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Has anyone heard of RG & Associates or Premier Services? Couldn't find anything on either of them. RG told me they were going to send the certified court paperwork if they don't hear back from me by Monday. Said the Attorney hadn't pit the lawsuit through yet. Help and thanks in advance.

So they are willing to settle an original 300 balance for 1100? Wow, how generous of them.

If they already had a lawsuit they'd just have you served. By the time they file, they are not going to negotiate with you, they are going to be serving you. I'd remind them it's against the law to threaten to bring suit when you don't intend to back that threat up (for them, not for us...).

I've never heard of this vulture agency but they sound very typical. And honestly for that amount of money it's doubtful they'd bring a full on lawsuit against you anyway - small claims would be a better route. So what I'm reading tells me they are bluffing.

Be very careful though in any dealings with them. You could simply try to wait them out and see if they serve you and if they do, get an attorney and deal with it.

Good luck with dealing with it whatever you do.

Same situation

Hi. The same thing happened to me last week. They said the exact same thing to me as they did to you and even called my grandmother to tell her that they were going to file a lawsuit against me. I am currently unemployed and told them so but they refused to take less than $500 on a $300 credit card bill. What has happened in your situation? Just wondering what you were able to find out or what they did?
