Barclaycard Arrival Plus

Postby beckhsrules » Tue Jun 03, 2014 11:17 am

I am looking forward to land on this card as I could see this is the best travel card right now and I am ready to pay the annual fee for the same. But the problem is I have only a small credit history (5 months old). What are my approval chances? Should I wait a couple of more months before I apply for the same?
Cards:

Amex PRG NPSL (8/14)
Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa 2500 (1/14)

Discover IT 1250 (4/14)

Scores: As of May 25 2014

Experian 714
Equifax 709
TransUnion 714
Discover 694(Aug 31)

Do you foresee yourself spending $3K within the first 3 months to get the 40,000 bonus miles? This is the primary draw for those individuals that have already applied.

I have some purchases in the near future which i believe will help me achieve the 3k in 3 months. I have plans of getting a macbook within the next three months. The main question here is about the approval odds.

If I had to guess, I'd say you're probably not going to get approved.

I agree. Barclaycard like to see history for those cards that require a min of 5K limit... 5 Months isn't enough time to judge yet. Plus you have several new accounts past 6 months and they also look at that too. I would say give it 6 months and get those limits you have up a bit. Let it report. Then go for it. You can always recon too!
