Default BB&T secured credit card offer avail in 2013?

Does anyone know if BB&T bank still offers a secured card? I did a search on their website for 'secured credit card' and nothing came up. My checking account is with BB&T but I rarely go into a branch otherwise I would ask there.

To the best of my knowledge BB&T does not issue a secured card

This is not that surprising though. Ever since the recession, most of the big banks have stopped offering secured credit cards. The reason? With the Fed keeping interest rates at 0%, these types of cards are no longer very profitable for the banks.

You see they used to be able to make money off your security deposit, but in this zero interest rate environment, there's not much to be made. Until rates go up, I wouldn't expect to see a BB&T secured card on the market.

BB&T does offer a secured credit card. You have to go into the bank to apply.
