How to lower interest rate on Chase credit card?
I have been with chase for years and have a credit score of 720. The card has a 17.24 joke interest rate. When I called I told them the avrg for reward cards was 14.61 they just said they knew but the bank wont lower the interest rate.
I explained this is the second time calling and that I have been with them years. They just gave me an address to write to. I just asked them to cancel the card because I get 11 percent offers from Discover all the time. Not to mention their rewards program is not a confusing mess.
Should I call back or write the letter?

Since you already cancelled the card you could make a new application if you still wanted to deal with Chase and see what APR they want to give. If you PIF it shouldn't make a difference what the APR is.
The Discover rewards program is, for the most part, lousy. If you need a low interest card, check out the CItibank card with the 0% BT offer.

Chase is a good bank. Probably, you may try applying for another card. Since you have been with them for year, you might be able to haggle for lower APR. If they will not give you, then maybe you can write that letter and request for lower APR.
