Default Navy Federal credit card comparison for rewards & benefits

Have been thinking about a Navy Federal credit card but don't know which one to get. Came here to get professional advice and review for their cards.

    1- Navy Federal Cash Rewards card gives 1% on $0.01 - $10,000.00 and 1.50% $10,000.01 and up
2 - Navy Federal N Rewards card is up to 1% cash back
3 - Navy Federal Go Rewards has $18 annual fee and up to 1.7% rewards but don't see how I would 1.7% with the sample rewards listed
4 - Navy Federal Visa Signature® Flagship Rewards has a $49 annual fee and up to 2% cash back
5 - Navy Federal Platinum card has no rewards and I don't want that

The Navy Federal credit union site does not do a good job laying out the reward programs on each and I want to know if there are any gimmicks or catches that go with their credit cards. Seeing the 'up to' always raises a red flag in my book.

Let me know what the best Navy Fed credit card for rewards is.

Hey that Navy Federal Go Rewards card looks good if you cash out at a lot of points.... 15,000 points for $200 discount on any airfare is not 1.7% but still more than 1%!!!!

The other Navy Federal credit card that looks interesting is the Visa Signature with its 30,000 points for $600 roundtrip airline ticket. Not bad!

I have a question. Between the Penfed and the Navy Federal credit card rewards, which would be the best to go with? I am in the military and would qualify for both credit unions. Should I join one over the other? How do they compare?

After poking around the site I ran across this page (not sure if everyone found it):
    https://www.navyfederal.org/products...d-benefits.php
    (Click on Benefits and Rewards)

You can download each of the card's "guides" in PDF format. They give better descriptions of the conversions from reward points to cash/rewards. I have to say that some look really interesting. I did notice that there were some limits on the "Flagship" (120,000 points). Looks like everything but the Cash card has their rewards expire after a number of years.

    As to the best card:
I could not venture a guess with out knowing your spending/credit profile (Even then I would be heasitant to give advice). How much will you charge in a year? Do you value travel points or cash?. Will you pay off the bill 100% every month?

Thanks man. For the most part it is rewards I want because I almost always pay in full. During the past 3 years there were only 2 months I carried a balance. For my spending I would say there is about $800 to $1200 per month on credit cards and about half of that is gas and groceries. The rest would probably fall under miscellaneous or uncatagorized. Travel rewards really aren't my thing since I don't go anywhere, other than road trips to see the fam.

For the Navy Fed GoRewards card that benefits guide shows 2,000 points will get me an annual fee credit. I thought all credit union cards were free?

I am with Penfed but the answer may vary depending on your circumstances. You may wish to see this regarding Penfed:

There are no reviews of the Navy Federal credit cards on here that I know of.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

I believe both the Penfed and Navy Federal credit cards have their own advantages. Credit cards with rewards are best for maximizing benefits if properly handled.

The penfed card is awesome. With the cost of gas these days, you can't beat getting 5% back on an unlimited basis. In addition, the rewards are automatically credited to your statement monthly. You don't have to accrue a certain amount of rewards to receive the benefit. This is definitely one of my favorite cards.
    Cards
Visa: BofA Cash rewards Visa Signature (1% on everything)
Kroger 123 Rewards Visa, Ascend FCU Platinum Visa (1% back), Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa (5% on Gas)
BofA Cash Reward Platinum Plus (1% on everything, 2%on groceries, 3% on gas), Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa ( 5 points on gas, 3 points on groceries, 1 point on everything else)

Discover: Discover More (5% back rotating categories), Discover Miles (2% on travel and restaurants, double miles on phone, internet, and tv

Amex: Gold Card, BofA Accelerated Cash Rewards (1.5% on everything)

Express Store card (points for gift certificates and special deals)
