Question Credit cards for less than perfect credit?

What are the best credit cards for less than perfect credit? My credit is not bad but I wouldn't call it perfect. I've had a couple late payments before and a charge-off on a medical bill 2-3 years ago. Other than that my credit is okay.

Are there any credit cards for less than perfect credit that still have decent terms? I would be carrying a balance on the card and that means it will need to have a fair rate.

    Am I being too picky?

A charge off from just 2 years ago could be a problem. To be blunt I would not be looking for a credit card to carry a balance on when you have less than perfect credit. The APR you get will probably be high, making it too costly to use the card for financing anything.

But to answer the original question, the best credit cards for less than perfect credit would be entry level charge cards because they are easier to get approved for. But you already said you want to use it to carry a balance and you can't do that with a charge card like the Amex Zync because you will have to pay the charges in full each month. For regular credit cards I would shoot for the middle of the road issuers. Don't try and go for premium cards like the Sapphire, etc because I doubt you would get approved.

If you have bad credit and don't think you can get approved for an unsecured card, then learn more about secured credit cards for rebuilding credit.

If you are above that tier, there are credit cards for less than perfect credit that are unsecured. As expected interest rates will be slightly higher and the rewards will not be top notch but there are still a few good cards to choose from.
