Approved for Barclaycard -- but not a 0% intro rate. Why?

Postby emfry821 » Fri Apr 11, 2014 2:39 pm

I applied for a credit card with Barclay and was approved. It had an introductory interest rate of 0% for 12 months. I was not given this apr, instead I was charged 13.99% apr. There was no reason for me to get approved for credit but not to get the interest rate. I have been fighting with them over the phone and have decided to cancel the card. I just thought I would get the word out on their unethical business practice.

There must have been a reason. And, by the way, this can always happen. The APR for a card is not fixed. And, like it or not, they get to decide what APR they want to give you. Their money, their decisions.

Did you apply via the promotional link?
All my posts are my opinions. All my posts mentioned "you" are merely for discussion-purpose only. No advice is given in any post at any time. It is also impossible for me to put effort to verify every statement that anyone has given.

Not meeting their requirements for a promotional offer is a common reason and not "unethical".

Did you receive a letter with your score and the reasons for their decision?
