How To Get Chase Credit Card Checks?

Postby juggernutB » Mon Oct 21, 2013 11:27 am

On almost a monthly basis, or at least every 2 months, I used to receive credit card convenience checks from Chase. I have a few cards with them but they mostly sent the offers for my Freedom and Amazon but lately I haven't gotten any.

(1) Do you think the reason I haven't gotten any is because I wasn't using them? Or has everyone seen a reduction in these mailings lately?

(2) Can you call Chase and request them?

(3) If I do use one of their credit card checks, are they counted as a cash advance or a 0% Intro APR if I write them out to myself and deposit them into my bank account?

(4) Would I be better off going with a balance transfer offer from another bank? Does Discover's 0% offer allow you to direct deposit the funds into your checking?

I used to get them all the time as well but never do anymore. I assumed it was because I never used them.

Be very careful with those. They have a lot of fine print. Sometimes the first one or two processed each month is treated as a cash advance with high fees. only the later few get good rates. Just read and understand teh fine print.

That was nice of him to answer me on there. Curious, when was the last Chase credit card check sent to you? Mine was in the summer sometime. Was there anything in the economy that would have triggered that for them to not do them anymore. Glad to hear it is not just me who was singled out.

I was wondering the same thing. Chase hasn't sent me any checks in ages. What about Citi did they cut back on them too?
