Can I do a balance transfer more than once?

Postby jonlien » Thu Mar 21, 2013 10:44 am

About 18 months ago, I did a balance transfer using my Citibank card. My 0% promotional period has long expired and I am still carrying a balance and paying interest. My plan is to pay off the entire balance in the next couple of months.

My question is - will Citibank offer me another balance transfer once I paid off my balance with them? If so, how long between the time I pay off the entire balance until they are willing to do another balance transfer offer for me?

Thanks.

You can't pay off Bank X with Bank X's money. Get a Chase Slate if you need time.

I am going to pay off the balance with my own money. Once I zero out the balance, will the bank offer me another balance transfer?

I see BT offers via their website, you could ask if you don't see them.

However, if you can afford to pay the card off, I don't understand why you'd want to pay a BT fee unless you can offset it with the money you wouldn't have to lay out.

Citi always solicits me with balance transfer offers. They just vary month to month, I'm sure the same is true for you. Like David said call them and see what they can do for you.
