Why is my APR so high?

It has nothing to do with being an old/new member and everything to do with your credit.

+1

Even with a high score and good payment history your available credit to income ratio may be a factor.

I stand behind USAA though, hold onto the card and periodically request to have the APR lowered. You'll get there.

My Amex BCE has a 21.99%, but I do have a low income(i'm still in school), and I have a short credit history. But, Amex won't see a dime from me in interest, so it's just water under the bridge.
