It will at least make them competitive. Would be very nice indeed.

Really? With tier removed and no 0.25% permanent on Walmart, Dollar Tree, etc?

At 1% cash back and giving 20% discounted gift cards is equal to 1.2% cash back if my math is correct. Which isn't that great.

I've actually really enjoyed having an IT card. I've hardly used it since I got it back in August, and I'm already at $50 cash back.

Definitely would see more play if it was at 1%.

That will place it in the same category as all the other 1% cards, with only half the rewards of a Priceline or Fidelity Amex card.

But, it has 5% bonus categories, which the Priceline and Fidelity lack.

I think this update would put it a step above the Freedom in pure cash-back, but Freedom still offers the ability to transfer points to a CSP for travel redemption.

irvine801 - A transition to a points system with the ability to transfer points from IT to a Discover Miles or Escape card would increase value even more.
    - Sapphire Preferred - Freedom - Ink - Platinum - Everyday Preferred -
