Q: Chase is Gas and Amazon (!!!) while Discover is Gas and Entertainment (movies and museums as noted above).
Q Chase is Groceries and Movie theaters while Discover is Restaurants and Movies; during this Q I'll use Chase for the groceries and Discover for Restaurants; otherwise no need for me to use Discover rest of year.
Q Chase is Gas again and Restaurants while Discover is Gas and "Summer Fun," whatever that is.
Q Chase is Hotels, Airlines, Best Bu and Kohls while Discover is "Holiday Shopping." Neither appeals to me in this case.
Considering the duplication of reward categories throughout the year, the wider acceptance of Visa over Discover and the fact that as a Chase customer my rewards are goosed up a bit because I have checking with them, there really is no reason to use Discover unless I exceed the Chase rewards cap, which I won't. I will pick up that second quarter restaurant bonus from Discover, though, and use the points, which probably would otherwise be stranded, to "pay with points" on Amazon.com.
