Default Discover Card Travel Insurance = Good or Bad?

I see that most Discover credit cards offer travel accident insurance, trip delay, trip cancellation and some other insurance benefits. Has anyone on the forum actually used them before?

Say that I book a cruise to the Caribbean on my Discover Escape and then have an accident. Say I fall and break my leg. Will there be accident insurance that will pay for the medical care from my credit card?

this is something I would call them and ask the account manager. how do you like your escape card? do you use your card for business travel or personal spending?

If you use the card for business travel do you get your bill sent to your office or your home?

The Escape card you mention has the best travel insurance benefits, but make sure you understand how they work. Here is a link to the benefits list on Discover's website: http://www.discovercard.com/customer...hanced-tc.html and here's a review of the Escape. The best in my opinion is the rental coverage that's primary, not secondary.

The Miles and More will have fewer travel benefits.

No, unfortunately not. In fact I don't know of any credit card that offers such coverage. Flight/travel accident insurance typically only covers you in the event of death or dismemberment during Common Carrier Travel.
