    Default what do you use

when Discover is NOT accepted, it doesn't have to be the last place you went to.
just any place a very expensive restaurant, a very expensive store, any restaurant
any store if there is any what form of payment do you use when Discover isn't accepted?

do you use travlers checks, money order, cash or a different creditcard?

At the Fenway park gift shop I would use a money order.

at a very expensive restaurant I would use either my Visa creditcard or American express credit card.

how about everybody else what do you use when Discover is not accepted?

For me when Discover is not accepted I use my Amex Zync. If Amex wasn't accepted I'd use my Visa Debit card from my bank.

If I cannot use Discover, then I reach for the Amex Blue Cash. If neither is accepted I evaluate the vendor and the product to make sure I really need the product/service from that person/establishment. If the answer to need is "Yes" then I will go with their preferred method of payment (Visa, Check, Money Order, or Cash usually in that order).

Honestly my discover isn't my primary card. I only use it for the 5% catagories. I currently use the AmEx Starwood Preferred Guest card as my primary.

I only use my discover for the 5% categories as well. My Amex sync is my primary.

Restaurant, I reach for my Citi Forward due to the fact I get double rewards.

Everywhere else, categories with Chase Freedom (Especially gas), but I honestly prefer my BoA debit card, helps keep spending tightly sealed.

If Discover isn't accepted, I generally use my PayPal Extras Mastercard (which is a terrible card and I don't use it for the points) for the simple reason that the metallic, shiny blue aesthetic of the card catches my eye before any of the other creditors in my wallet. In the future, however, I will likely whip out my new AMEX Blue.

If you just use Disc for 5% cashback and haven't yet charged $3k since your anniversary date, your cashback will be 4.25%.

Chase, in contrast, doesn't have this baloney, 5% means 5%.
