Subway won't take it and neither will Warren Theaters in Wichita.

I suppose since Subway is a franchise (and a loosely regulated one at that) the owners of a given location can choose which payment methods they accept. I know in the Southern California area I have never encountered a Subway which didn't accept Discover cards.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.
Current Cards: American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier
Now that Goodwill takes it, I don't ever use anything else. Aside from them, that's the only place in ages that I've come across that didn't take it (other than places that don't take any credit cards.)
Buffalo Wild Wings here in St. Louis didn't accept it.
Newport Insurance Agency over the phone payment doesn't accept either Discover or AMEX...
Why is it such a big deal that Discover is not accepted? Their reward program, for the most part, isn't as good as those on many other cards.
It was a Buffalo Wild Wings about 15 minutes south of downtown St. Louis. Either way, was surprised a larger chain like that would not accept.
Del Taco doesn't accept it. I can understand smaller chains like that being Visa/MasterCard only. But I see more and more Amex/Visa/MasterCards accepted. I would think they would be able to negotiate a package with their acquiring banks to accept all four....
