Default Discover wallet protection is a scam?

I am so worried now that Discover has me enrolled. The phone representative made is sound like such a valuable service and that's why I agreed to signup. The benefits guide has not came in the mail yet and I went to bing to find it online and right there under the official page for the Discover wallet protection there are a bunch of nasty reviews about the program where customers have said they were scammed by it. I am scared Discover will do the same to me. How do I cancel before the fees.

This site advertises Discover and make no mistake about it, they get complaints like every other card issuer, but I don't recall hearing any specific complaints about Discover's Wallet Protection service. In my personal opinion, I don't believe services such as these are worth the money for most people, but that doesn't necessarily make it a "scam" per say. However if someone has personal experiences/reviews for this service, good or bad, please post below.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.
