I understand your frustration. Citi has done the same thing to me. Go figure I got Amex and Discover but Citi just doesn't like me. You can't win em all.

If you call them they should be able to explain what exactly they don't like and give you ideas on how you might get into the club. Have you called them to recon your app?

Oh yeah I did recon. They weren't really able to provide solid reasons for the denial. The mentioned the late payments over the phone but they forgot to mention it in the denial letter.

Got approved for AMEX and Chase. Those are prime enough for me. Forget about Discover!

Ok this is just crazy. Today I got a pre approved letter from discover. Two weeks ago I applied for a zinc, was denied, went back door and still denied credit score to low(EQ 686) they say.

So went online filled out the blanks was approved for 1500. Not good but not bad.
My current score is 630. Had an car emergency and went over my 500 limit on orchard bank aka cap1. Since then I've paid it off. My other cards are local bank 750 and Barclays for 1500.
Never missed a payment in 18 months and run a 40% utl.

So I guess I just killed the curve. Amex told me to get lost till I hit 700. Discover embraces me to a credit limit off 1500.

    I'm happy.

Congrats Neggrodamaus. Not bad all things considered. Your score was high enough for Zync on the basis of the score alone but Amex keeps an internal score and that probably wasn't high enough.

I would keep at it with Discover they are worth getting in with. I can honestly say of all the cards I have had they are the most positive experience by far. They tend to be conservative about who they let in but once you get in you have a great company in your wallet. They are now my go to card.
