    Default Discover credit card application status?

    I applied for a Discover card and the screen said my application was pending review. How can I check the application status and is this a bad sign? Will it mean I am likely to get my application denied because an instant approval wasn't given?

    I had that happen about a week ago with my online application for an American Express card. I did get approved but the update took a while and your Discover card's application status I doubt will change until a live person has evaluated it.

    You can check a Discover card application status using this link-

    When a credit card is pending approval most will make a decision within a few days. If in doubt you can always call customer support directly and find out what's up with it at 1-800-DISCOVER.

    FYI I applied for the More credit card and didnt get instant approval but I called after and she was able to speed things along. Give them a call if you think you might be denied and you might be able to talk them into approving you!!
