I have been reading up on debt settlement with Discover credit cards and have read that Discover is well known for suing people who don't pay. I have been making my minimum because of this but eventually I could take no more and had to stop paying we couldn't come up with the money for not even the minimum.

I read a post from 3 years ago (from 2008) that said as soon as you ask about debt settlement Discover card will automatically send your account to collections. I am trying to find out if this is still true today. I read that the collections accounts usually go to Zwicker and Associates most of the time or On Core and that is who we would have to try and settle with. What have you been able to find out?

Thank you for that information so very useful! I take it then there is no Discover card debt settlement department in the company and my only way route of negotiation would be through the collection agencies used?
