I like the Peggy commercials from Discover much better than the other credit card commercials that are playing. The 'My Card Can' campaign from Delta and American Express is on the cheesy side. The last one I saw had a Delta credit card the size of a mountain next to a couple at a spiritual retreat complete with harmonic music and that is not a right fit for a credit card commercial. There is nothing spiritual or awakening about credit cards for crying out loud.

I hadn't seen those last two. I liked the "transfer to manager commercial" but the other wasn't that great.

And George I agree the Delta Amex commercials have been less than exciting for years now. If only Amex would wise up and use Deltalina-

I would like to know if Discover credit cards are gaining in popularity or not in recent times. Will commercials and advertising ever make Discover as big as Visa and Mastercard?

Default Huge mismatch; what they advertise is not how market behaves

Why did you or most people get a card or use a card ? Convenience , acceptability, low rates, cash back, competitive credit/spending limits ?

Now, what are they advertising again ?

What was that line from Forrest Gump ? Stupid is as stupid does ? Ya know, it might be entertaining if thats all they are concerned with to go with a tag line : "Discover, the Forrest Gump card for your wallet " No doubt it would be as popular as Peggy. Probably just as effective too.

Default Haven't seen Peggy in a while ? If objectives matter, it was a very foolish campaign

Is it just what I watch or has Peggy gone to sleep ?

For Discover's sake it would be in their best interests not to call attention to anyone's customer service including their own IMO.

Now my experience with Discover indicates very disjointed management of the consumer. Their advertising also appears erratic, inconsistent and not at all focused on objectives or consumer needs and wants.

Was that a take on the Casey Anthony prison phone call temper tantrum at the end of the Peggy - Transfer commercial where she says "Come on!" and clenches her fists?
