Default How do I get a credit limit increase?

I have a Discover More STUDENT Card, it's my second credit card and for the most part Discover has been pretty good to me.

I've never been late on a payment to them and hav e tried to keep my balance carryover to as little as possible.

The thing is, I'm one of these college students that owns their own (moderately successful all things considered) company and I'm going on 2 big business trips in about a month. I'd like to not have to carry cash but seeing as how it's a STUDENT card, my spending limit is absolutely abysmal.

So I'd like to get my credit limit extended... how do I do this? Is it even possible? Advice is greatly appreciated.

Discover is fairly forthcoming with credit limit increases, assuming a stellar credit history. I would advise calling them to check if your account qualifies for a credit line increase. Occasionally this can be granted without a hard pull. Give that a try and let us know if it works.

    Will do.

I just paid my balance off completely, should I wait for the next statement to call them or just any time?

    Thanks

I would call them now. If you haven't had a credit limit increase in 6 or more months I would be surprised if they don't offer an increase when asked.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

I called, since it's a fairly new account they can't do a limit increase until the end of June but they said "you'll most likely be granted an increase at that time."

    Will keep posted.
    Thanks for the help.
