    Default Diners Club Carte Blanche

This card should be more popular after this Discover merger is all said and done in a couple years. It has like the same benefits as the Amex platinum and then some, but the annual fee is a $100 less. You get British Airways companion tickets -- easily $5000 to $8000 savings each time. And golf course and private jet access. I don't think the platinum card can claim all that

Do you only get one companion airfare ticket on British Airways per year or is it more? I can't afford to go Europe but if you go there regularly seems like this card would be worth it just for that.

You also get room upgrades and all that. It's all pretty similar to the Amex Platinum card. I'd opt for the Amex though because it's more widely accepted. The only reason I'd get the Diners is because of that companion airfare on British Airway - only if I flew there frequently. Other than that I see no reason for someone to choose the Carte Blanche over the Amex Platinum. Just my two cents on it.

I don't know how you can say the Amex is more widely accepted. Before the Discover thing Diners Club operated on MasterCard networks. I think it's safe to say MasterCard is accepted more places internationally than American Express.

You get unlimited international companion tickets on British Airways but you need to get a Business or Premier economy seat. The regular seats don't apply but still the price would be a lot less than buying 2 regular seats!

The Amex Platinum Card only gives you 4 free companion tickets a year.
