Waiting time...

Postby tbka » Sun Apr 06, 2014 9:00 am

I mentioned on my post here... "Denied" in the American Express section, I was declined for both a Green card and an IT card. After calling Discover to ask about the reasons for not being good enough for an IT, they mentioned that after I establish a history with my current cards, I'll have a better change if and when I apply again. She seamed to wish me to apply I the future, but stop short of telling me how long I should wait before applying. So my question is, should I wait six months or a whole year before trying for a Discover card again?

Not sure how long you have had those cards but 6 months history reporting on you EQ (which they pull for card approvals) should be good enough. I would give it a try after 6 more months.

It is not just a matter of time, I believe. If those in your signature are your actual scores I would wait until they get in the 700's.
Talking about time, why not wait 1 year and put an end to it? The last thing you want is being rejected in another 6 months only because you haven't been patient enough. Just give it time man.

I know the Wells Fargo and Barclay report on EQ, but the Capital One has not reported (or did a hard pull... interesting) and the Credit Union is too new yet to determine as of yet. So I should get something from some of them.

Wait till 700's... wow! That may not happen till my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy clears in mid 2018. Ouch.. That is a long time to wait.

Yeah, I do realize that buddy. But what other choice do you have? Keep getting hard pulled without even having the pleasure of holding the card in your hands? You gotta be patient.
Having said that, if you really won't get in the 700's before 2018...just give it a shot. ;)
