they bumped me up to 9k with a soft pull. I used the card alot when I was getting tattoo work done because the shop accepted discover but not amex. Not so much since then so I'm surprised they countered my 10k request with 9k.

Initially unimpressed. After hearing good things about the IT card and Discover's customer service from friends, I decided to apply. Initial credit line was $750, which is roughly 1/10 of my two other revolving lines with Amex and Chase. I'm a pay in full customer who moves decent spending through these lines. While their customer service is friendly, they weren't helpful, particularly in setting up automatic payments through their website before the first statement cuts.

I suppose it's worth keeping the card for the revolving calendar and FICO, but I imagine Discover and I will not have a fruitful relationship.

I have had more credit history than my coworker- we both applied the same time (two pcs)

I was instantly approved with a credit limit of 1,500 (my lowest ATM)
He had to call Discover since when he submitted the application he was asked to call. when he got off the phone he had a 2K limit!

I have a higher score, more history and we reported the same wage- wonder what happened there.

but thankfully amex gave me a credit limit and he didn't get one which was AWESOME!

Thanks everyone for the great wishes and the congrats from all. Been a bit busy but I received the card a couple days ago and WOW was I impress on the package that it arrived. It was a nice sort of folder type and the card looks definitely good to me. On another note I want share with you all that the very next day that I received the card I also got an email from capital one saying my limit was bump to $2,000 I wonder if this discover app triggered the Cap 1 increase since I have never received an increase on Cap 1. What do you ladies/gents think?
