Here's something related to that 10,000 limit increase...I had a FICO Score of 760 and opened an IT card. My Credit limit was set at 10,000 right off the start, but my credit score went down to 708 right after opening it. My utilization rate is 1% on my total of 8 cards combined. I always pay early and sometimes make over payments leaving me with credit owed me on my cards, i did this over payment to see if it had an effect...well i guess i got my answer when my score went down. i've never been able to crack above 760...due to an under-utilization score of "C"...crazy FICO system!
