It was nice of Discover not to exclude the old More cardholders. Guess the Discover Miles folks are getting their TU scores as well.

Why keep the More card? I thought Discover was doing PC's to the IT for everyone anyway... Essentially the same card with a couple of added benefits.
Chase Freedom Signature - 10k (rotating 5%)
Citi Platinum Select - 8.1k (rotating 5%)
Discover It - 12k (rotating 5%)
AMEX BCE - 20k (Groceries 3% / Gas 2% )
Regions Signature Visa - 5k
US Bank Cash+ - 5.5k (Restaurants/Fast Food 5% / Drug Stores 2%)
Navy Federal cashRewards Visa Signature - 20k (Business Purchases)
Care Credit - 6k (Vet Bills/Dentist - 0% APR)
Chase IHG Rewards (Priority Club) - 18k (Annual Night Certificate, Platinum Elite Status)

Not used except for occasional purchase with promo:
Jared - 7.5k

For me it is the card design and name. I despise flat, un-embossed cards and It just seems silly for a card name. If they would make a decent looking, embossed card with the name "It" nowhere in sight I'd consider the upgrade to get rid of the lower cash back tiers.

I think a better question is why Discover seems to be abandoning its longtime cardholders who carry a More card (itself a stupid name) and focusing on It. Long time customers should be rewarded and at the very least given the same benefits of It without having to actually change to It.

I don't think they are abandoning them I think they figure they will eventually move to the IT. And with the better rewards I really can't see any reason not to personally. I'm not sure I see why you are upset with them CC, other than the design of the card. Personally I am ok with it but I dig function over form so that's just me.

You can call them up and change your account type. Took me less than three minutes. And you can continue to use the existing card until it expires.
