Congrats, I just got my cards replaced because of the target fiasco and they overnight it, which explains the shoddy packaging (one was sealed, the other wasn't, and one had the sticky thing sticking the card to the paper backwards)

But you know what? I love their app, love the simplicity and the cashback rotating categories aren't too shabby.

Definitely good experiences so far and hopefully they'll be able to maintain as they grow, the features they're toting like having a live rep from US answering

Good to know. I'm starting to think that Discover has better CS than AMEX. Maybe I should cancel my AMEX? Does anyone carry both?

I just bought something from the Bestbuy portion of the site with 5% cashback. How do they track your purchases?

I got approved yesterday and can't wait to get it Friday. It started with me getting a mail offer last week, saw an middle age lady pulling it out in the post office, commercials on tv, going through some of my father's things and saw 2 old 90s discover cards, and my best friend telling me to grow a pair and get it already. Talk about edging it and now.........it feels good.

How I felt all week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA1mbZ_MMh8

And if you don't get it then, you can always send the customer service center a secure online message with the amount purchased and some sort of order and invoice number, and they'll add it for you! I had this happen to me a few times due to browser issues.
AMEX BCE ($20,000), Citi Forward ($6,800), Discover IT ($5,250), BoA Travel Rewards ($1,800)

I have carried both. Amex's American reps are as good as Discover's reps. Amex's foreign reps are just a small step above Cap One reps. So if you have a Platinum or Centurion you should get just as good of service (but for the money you'd better) otherwise, it's a mixed bag. When you call customer service ask to be transferred to an American representative if you call Amex. That's your best bet.

You might be thinking well I have to pay a fee for my Amex card and Discover has no fee why do I have to mess around like that when I'm paying them a fee, and that's a good question. I suspect the answer is "corporate profits" but who knows. Only you can determine if the Amex is worth it to you, but I don't see why you couldn't keep both if that works for you.
