Yep. I've been surprised at how little coverage there was of this added benefit. It covers all Chevron and Texaco stations. Effectively brings Discover in line with Freedom for this quarter if you live near these brands.

I found out courtesy of Hustler Money Blog and it's the only person I read that's covered the change.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

We don't have those stations in my area. I wish we did I'd buy gas there.

I noticed this the other day as I was using my spend $40 get $5 back offer from Amex. The problem (here) is Chevron is often the most expensive gas around. It's routinely 30 cents a gallon higher than Costco, Sam's or the price on base and 10 cents a gallon higher than most other brands...

I'll sign up just in case but for my routine gas purchases my BCP at 3% for gas 30 cents a gallon cheaper is much better.

I'm one who doesn't care where his gas comes from though...

Here in California Chevron has a promotional deal with Safeway Supermarkets. All Safeway club members earn points that can be redeemed at Chevron stations in the form of discounted gas. Every $1 spent at Safeway = 1 point. 100 points = $0.10 off per gallon at Chevron. The only catch is a person can only redeem 200 points ($0.20/gallon discount) per fill-up. It usually makes Chevron the cheapest gas available.

Same in Hawaii, except for the cheapest part...today 87 was $3.93 at Chevron.
