I'm still using the ugly Spruce design from their early chip days when many cards were oddly of a darker color.
And for anyone considering that, it's a one-time thing. So don't do it until/unless you think you can get good value from it.
What is a dratus match? If it's meant to say "status match", what do they match? Confused.
Instead of "drapping" (a portmanteau of "drunken apping") it would be submitting an equally-pointless hotel status match request while drunk ("drunken status match" becomes "dratus match").
Status matches can be good or bad, depending on the circumstances. Hyatt used to occasionally match people with even moderate status elsewhere to Hyatt Diamond. They would get a flood of customers whenever they did this, but I don't think those customers remained loyal to Hyatt so the practice has stopped (for the time being, at least). With a few suite upgrades and free breakfast, getting Hyatt Diamond was great for those who managed to get in during one of the short-lived promotions.
Choice Hotels' promotion is far less appealing. They are matching people to the middle two of four tiers, both of which offer extremely little...as in a few dollars' worth of extra points and luggage tags. The top tier isn't much better.
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt, Arrival
May close or PC: Prestige, BrooksBros
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
