It seemed like the numbers would fade pretty quick with use and in her wallet as well. Even though customer service very much contested it, I was able to escalate for her and managed to get her one of the regular card designs with the raised numbering (like regular, legacy Discover customers have, I guess) that she wanted.

One of the customer service managers said her experience was the first they had heard about anyone being "disappointed" with an "it" card.

Yeah, to be blunt, your girlfriend was being unnecessarily picky. The information doesn't fade (and technically I'd say it's on the back of the card). She's the first person I've heard of that doesn't think the it is nice. Most people find the way the info is displayed unique and therefore cool.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

Understandable. I can subscribe to and understand that mentality as well, but also understood her side of "Why not". Especially when they sent her a market mailer of "here's all the potential designs you could have!" when I guess that market mailer was misdirected since she's not a Discover More customer, that of which they were displaying the inherently more plentiful design options for. What she first got when she signed up she didn't like, and wanted something out of the standard More section, so all power to her I guess. Evidently Discover will soon be modifying the process based on that email chain that went on with some higher up card processing folks.

I haven't seen that one. They also added a plum color. I am considering picking the copper design.

Yea, I am excited to see it in person. Wasn't really feeling the plum color. I will post pics once I receive it.

The copper color is really unique. I'm intrigued about the Plum color since I dig purple, but the actual card might be a few shades darker or lighter depending on my monitor lol. It's nice that Discover is finally adding more colors/designs. I wish they brought back some of the More designs.

With all this copper talk I had to log in and see the latest options for myself. Decided to go against the grain and order the plum card. This will be my third it in almost as many months. Orange and purple have the potential to be a strange color combo so I look forward to seeing the copper IRL in case I decide the plum is no good.

Just got the copper design. Very cool! Something different to try instead of the original blue. Almost looks gold-ish.
