it Sign-Up Bonus Offers Now Include $150 CB

Postby samhradh » Fri Dec 06, 2013 10:30 pm

The following Discover offers are temporarily unavailable. The following information is for reference only.

I literally apped for this card only a couple weeks ago. Grrr....

If you're still waiting to apply for the it, you be crazy!

Part of me is jealous and wants to beg Discover to change my terms but the other part of me likes spending their money for 14 mo and paying no interest. Given my personal situation right now I'll be happier with no interest.

I'm curious, though: has anyone ever successfully requested for a bonus offer to be applied to their account if they applied prior to the bonus launching? Or heard of someone doing this? In this case the fine print says it must be a new application but we all know the rule that if you yell loud enough, usually someone tries to quiet you down with candy.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

I had an experience about this, but not with Discover, actually with Chase. I don't know if it helps. I applied for Chase Freedom in 2012, when they offered no interest in 6 months. Later a week, I found out they offered a better term of no interest in 12 months. I tried to negotiate with them to change my term but they denied it. They explained to me that some new legislation prohibited any bank to change its credit card's terms within a year. I heard the reason that that legislation was passed because there were some banks tried to raise their interest rate after 2,3 months and screwed up some people. That is why it was passed, but apparently it screwed up some people who missed out a better term like me, too.
All my posts are my opinions. All my posts mentioned "you" are merely for discussion-purpose only. No advice is given in any post at any time. It is also impossible for me to put effort to verify every statement that anyone has given.

Perhaps I'm being blind, but where exactly are you seeing this sign-up bonus? I followed the link, and didn't see that announcement anywhere. However the part about the free FICO score is enticing. I'm seriously considering applying for the IT in a couple months.
