Anyone ever had Discover not create a statement?

Postby MemberSince99 » Tue Jul 30, 2013 6:26 am

I got the IT card earlier this month, and it said the cut off date was the 20th. I never got notice a statement was available, and I haven't used the card as honestly, I just am not that worried about using a card with a small limit (relative to my bigger limits) which has no growth potential.

I never was notified the statement was available, and can't find one. Do they not generate one until there is activity on the account? Knowing how these lenders are I was kind of paranoid that as soon as I use it, they'll quick shoot out a statement with a balance and my TU score already dropped with "high utilization" since 3 other cards caught me with tiny balances so I don't need more of that....

They don't generate a statement if you had no activity within that statement period. Also, hit them where it hurts and use card for 5% and go paper statements.

Ok that makes sense.

I'm not really out to hurt them honestly, though I'd give them some swipes if they gave me something like even my CSP has as far as a limit goes. The only thing I don't care for about them is how they are with limits otherwise I have no issue with them.

They also don't report the account if there's no activity. at least in my experience.

That makes it tempting for me to just never use it. It's a tiny limit and it's never ever going to grow I gave up on them. All it reporting will do is lower my AAoA. I like their CS (best of the best) and their rewards and online mall, but otherwise, it's a card without a future for a guy like me.

Maybe I'll just sockdrawer it.
