As a student, I'm not running that kind of money through my credit cards and it takes awhile for me to earn that much cash back. Chase and Amex require just a $20 minimum. Thus, they get most of my card swipes.

That's really weird. My gf has the More card and she can redeem starting at $20. If this is the case, I should tell her not to PC. I don't know about all the other folks who have yet to PC their old Discover cards, but Discover has been sending out flyers HARD about having my gf switch to the IT. Literally, every week she gets something from them persuading her to PC, even tho they offer her no incentives.

I'd say getting the full 1% base rewards vs .25% is incentive enough.

And you can spend the points at Amazon in any amount you like which is how I used them when I didn't have enough to redeem for cash, though one month I got 150 back (used the 5% plus they had a 2% on top of that).

I'm guessing HookemHorns meant 50 is the minimum redemption for statement credit or direct deposit, not gift cards.

My bad. Even so, a Discover gc would be money you could use the same way.

I am unable to use my CB for Discover GCs only partner GCs. According to Discover, Hawaii has some law preventing it. Never tried to use for statement credit.

That sucks. But hey, at least you live in Hawaii!
