Just Got Approved

Postby hockeyplayr » Fri Jun 28, 2013 6:29 am

Thought I'd throw this into the mix. With a 704 transunion score (which they didn't pull) and after apping both amex bce and chase freedom and only getting $2k and $700 credit lines, Discover approved me for their IT card with a 4k credit limit. Im 22, working part time making 25k a year and this is my highest limit so far

Congratulations! Enjoy your new Discover card! They have wonderful CS and the rewards are very nice with their rotating categories, and they have an excellent online shopping mall to maximize rewards. Nice limit too.

Yup, Discover definitely has no rhyme or reason to their limits! Congrats though, Hockey! Use wisely and thrive. :)

thanks guys. Honestly didn't know what to expect given that some people with a way better income were getting 3k and some people younger than me were getting 16k. So far discover is gaining points in my book. They just emailed me saying they expedited my card and I didn't even ask

While you're still on their good list, ask them what's up with Diner's Club and if it's ever coming back to the US! :)

My IT card actually has the Diners Club logo on the back, so I think something is in the works.

You can use it where diner's club is accepted, outside of the United States (and maybe Canada.) Discover bought the international rights to Diner's Club, they didn't buy the US system. That's owned by someone else, and the cards are issued by them (or their licensee, I don't keep track...). They're Mastercards, for all intents and purposes.

I just got approved for 5.5k with the Discover It card. I was hesitant in applying for this credit card since is less generally accepted in many public places.
