Working toward Discover CLI

Postby im_mr_awesome » Fri Jun 21, 2013 10:30 am

I put between 400 and 900 per month of spending through my Discover card. Mostly large purchases but sometimes gas or food. I also pay that amount off every month, though sometimes after it posts.

What are the chances of a CLI, do you guys think? I've heard Discover likes a lot of little balances and for you to carry something of a balance, which I always have a few hundred on there revolving.

I'm hoping for an auto CLI after my three month and I'm requesting on after 6 months for sure.
Scores on the mend...

Sock Drawer Discover IT, Citi Diamond Preferred, AE Visa, QuickSilver One, Walmart CC, CareCredit, CreditOne (keeping for history for now)

Well you've only had it two months, and they are pretty stingy, you might squeak a small auto cli at 4 to 6 months, though I wouldn't bet on it and it will be at most 150 or 200 but hey anything is nice. Most likely you will have to wait till the 6 month mark then ask, and it's always YMMV as to what if anything they give you and if it's a hard or soft.

They are not generally known for being all that generous though there are exceptions.

from what I have been reading discover likes it when people leave balances on their cards so what you should do is charge 100-200 and let it post onto your statement and pay it right away when discover tells you that your statement is ready for viewing so you don't pay interest.
