Discover's balance transfer fee of 3% worth it?

Postby Twisted Innovator » Tue Mar 19, 2013 8:06 am

Keep getting mail offers for Discover it card. It's TEMPTING, but I have no use for the card :( I don't do a lot of online shopping and I have the Freedom for rotating 5%. I would do a balance transfer, but Discover wants to charge me 3%. That defeats the purpose lol

Doesn't sound TEMPTING to me.

If you want to do a BT get the Chase Slate (no BT fee) or Citi Simplicity

Decided not going to do it or balance transfer. Hey, someone just changed my headline. I definitely did not have that headline at first. Was it a mod?

Depends on your needs. 3% balance transfer fees are pretty norm for the industry.
Cards:
American Express Platinum (NPSL)
Penfed Platinum Reward Visa ($28K)
Chase Freedom Visa ($25K)
Fidelity American Express ($20K)
American Express Blue Cash Preferred ($20K)
Bank of America Cash Rewards MasterCard ($20K)
Citi Thank You Preferred Visa ($9.5K)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K)
US Bank Cash + Visa Signature ($7K)
Discover IT ($4K)
