Good luck, call them if you need to move things along.

Hello everyone, its been quite some time since I've posted here. Been busy with life and whatnot. I though I'd update this thread for my continuation of my journey with my Discover "it" card.

So, here's what's happened since 02/13/13:

Absolutely nothing.

Since getting that card back on 02/13 and utilizing it like crazy all the way until now, 9/13 nothing has changed as far as my Credit Line with Discover. I've made sure to run up about $300+ in charges since opening the card, on a monthly basis, and I've paid it off every month as well. Making sure I pay no interest.

Have not seen an Auto CLI after the 6 months, though it hasn't really upset me much. Not too sure if I want to even bother with the CLI button, as it asks how long I've been at my current employer and I've just been picked up by another bank, so I'm only on my second week of being there. Though, happily, my paycheck for one week of work here, is about the same as it would have been for working two weeks. So I'm enjoying that. <3

Only other thing I'd say that's happened to me recently was just today I was auto approved for a Chase Freedom with a $2,200 CL, though that's not really related to my discover. But we'll see how things go in that aspect.

Alright, that's the only update I have in that aspect.

Ciao~

It could have been a coincidence and Discover was going to give you a CLI anyway, but you could be right... sometimes "higher limits do beget higher limits." That rule supposedly holds true only for NEW cards you apply for, but it seems sometimes it also works for established cards. I don't think Discover got "scared" since a computer gave you your CLi with no human input, but it could have triggered something in their credit model algorithm.

i love discover's app--how it always greets me g'morning or afternoon or evening.

its much friendlier then Citi's (on the eye) and Chase's too..visually anyways.

I don't have too much trouble getting this card accepted, and even though it has 1/5th of what my Citi card limit is, it still lets me do the everyday purchases (bad habit of coffee/scone thats always shy of 10) and swing a spurge every now and then..plus no FT fees.

i hope discover eventually will work on a chip feature for IT. girl can dream

Back in March of this year, I received an invitation in the mail to apply for the discover IT card. I thought to myself "hmm, you have to have great credit in order to get a discover card" and my credit is still building up after 2 years with a secured master card with Capital One. So after reading great reviews about discover, I went ahead and applied and was instantly approved with a CL of $1200. I was really happy and I can't complain about this company. I finally pass the 6 month mark with this card and I called to see if I can get a CLI and was told I needed to do a hard pull after answering a few questions. I decided to not go on with the hard pull. Other than that, I think that this card is great and it has a neat look to it. I love the CB programs especially for gas.

I had a chapter 7 bkrptcy that was discharged sometime in late 2006 / early 2007 (I can't remember anymore). I applied for a Discover It card in July 2013 doubting I'd get it. I was so surprised that they accepted me! Instead of a $6000 credit line, they gave me $1000 but I am sure that will increase. I am really loving the 5% cash back, too. I also like how it's linked to Amazon where I can pay using cash back rewards. I love their customer service, too.

Nice. It's a good long-term card to have.

I actually think Discover pays attention to Freedom cards that their customers have. I did hard pulls to get CLIs on both my Freedom and my More. Results were $2500 CL on Freedom and $1750 on More. Not long after, and without substantial usage, Discover ups the limit on my More to $2500.
Chase Freedom ($2.5K, 10/2009)
Discover it ($6K; 03/2011)
Amex BCE ($19.5K; 02/2013 - 2011 BD)
