Approved for It as my first 'Prime' card.

Postby BradyD » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:11 pm

Hi all.

I'm 25 years old and have had a crappy CapOne Platinum with a $750 limit on it. I've been tired of have just a tank of gas blow my utilization, so I decided it's finally time to get a big-time card.

Applied for the It card and was instantly approved but with no limit information; called and they gave me a $6,000 limit! I'm excited.

TU FICO: 745
EQ FICO: 731 -> 723 (Discover pulled from EQ).

Looking forward to being a member!

Congrats! Looks like you can thank crappy Capital One for getting you to prime land.

I love Discover's customer service. I've had even better experiences with them than with American Express. I used to not carry it around because the More only gave .25% on categories outside of the rotating 5% and any bonuses, but I'm thinking of transferring to the It (since it always gets at least 1%) and going back to using the Discover more often.

Congrats to you that's a great starting limit. Not to threadjack, but it does kinda irk me as I have cards with much higher limits and higher scores than yours and they only gave me 4.5k to start. I guess that's why I don't use it much. (It's currently signed up for one small recurring monthly charge and that's all I use it for).

In your case seems like they like you and it will grow with you.
