Oh well it's a credit card right so no biggie!
I fully understand where you are coming from...some banks take a lot of care in making a handsome or modern card. The Sapphire/Sapphire Preferred are actually good looking cards...but I wish the numbers and letters were on the front and properly embossed. Aparently they (Chase) continue to receive complaints from people like me that upon receiving their vertical Slate card, request a "normal" horizontal one and Chase actually delivers. Now, I take exception to this IT card for a number of reasons...the name, IT, really? Then the gimmicky flat front and copy cat Chase back-of-the card account number. And initially, when IT came out in, what, October? the only difference between IT and More was the stupid card design and no penalties for using the card irresponsibly (no overlimit, no late fees etc etc).
The Discover Platinum card from 1999-2003 was a nice, simple design and then they started this whole More crap and now this IT crap. At least now in addition to the gimmicky card design, IT finally has the 1% cash back with no tiers to go through.
It's just like some states' license plate designs. Seen a new Georgia plate recently (LOL here is a hint, its AWFUL)? That red, white and blue Texas plate? They are WAY too busy....and then you have Indiana...blue, flat and boring. There has to be a nice common ground. If Discover makes IT out of a metal of some sort then it would be kind of cool though unoriginal since Chase did it first.
I am the minority though, most people love this new IT design. To each their own.
