Are Discover card Zip stickers/tags a bad idea?

My Discover Zip has been ordered and I'm looking forward to using it. It is good use of technology until Google Wallet is upgraded. Does anyone use either/both?

Not sure I would like the Zip. The idea of a unsecured credit card attached to my phone is not an attractive. Using Google Wallet as a NFC device is one thing as you can lock the phone. Using the Zip you just need to have the phone in your possession.

I am not careless with my phone but it does leave my pockets more than my wallet. The idea of losing my phone is bad enough but having a credit card go with it is something I would like less.

I'm fine with the ewallets and NFC but the thing should be powered off and inaccessible when the phone is locked and there should be a need to enter a PIN or signature+eswipe for the transaction. At least ewallets have the convenience of having the potential to identify the merchant code, determine what credit card to put it on to maximize rewards automatically while managing your debt utilization card by card. And automatically applying all applicable coupons, promotions, and loyalty cards so you don't forget without fumbling for that then the best credit card, etc.
