Discover survey

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 4:46 pm

I recently called Discover customer service to ask for my cut off date so I could let a zero balance hit on the card as desired. After calling I realized I was a complete idiot as Discover probably won't report for 2 months anyway but I'd already called.
The CSR told me the date and I thanked him and as always their reps are great to deal with.
I got a survey from Discover this morning asking about my experience contacting them by phone. I answered truthfully that they are great and their CSRs are the best, and please don't offshore them and make it a joke like Crapital One (that's exactly how I put it) as part of the reason I got the card was knowing what great customer service they have.
That's the truth too. I hope they are not considering offshoring these positions. The CSRs at Discover have been the best I've dealt with. I hope they are around for a long time to come. My hope is it was just a standard survey checking up, but I felt like I wanted to get a good word in for the people who have been doing such a great job there.

As a call center representative I can't believe how many people once I answer the phone show their gratitute that I'm in America. I know I sure love it too when I call somewhere!

Trav, I see your in NC. You dont happen to work for AT&T by any chance do you? I say this because when I had my first phone with AT&T, their CS was terrible. Since I came back this year, I have not had any issues, and one of my co-workers moved to Cali from NC, and he worked at a call center as well. I'm just curious. And yes, American CS is much better then calling a foreign call center.

Ahh, I see. Is directv any good? we are currently with Dish Network and planning to switch (we're die hard Laker fans too...and when I talked to Dish last week, the rep had no clue if they would ever a deal with the Lakers, every other large company (cable companies) has made deals, Dish has decided to hold out...) We might be considering TWC or U-verse, and maybe Directv. I've heard a lot of negative things about Directv so for now we are just sticking to Dish.
