I got Discover (More STUDENT) with a very short history, only 2 cards for about 4 months. Not sure how well it would work with no history.

However, one card I can guarantee you is the CapitalOne Journey card. My gf applied for this, she is a foreign permanent resident, 19 years old, and had zero credit history. Started with 300 limit and went to 750 shortly thereafter.

Discover didnt approve me at the beginning of my history. I had a few cards and then applied for the student card within a few months and got rejected.. The only negatives I had at the time were a few inquiries. I plan on trying again within the next 4-5 months.

If your credit is clear, go for cap 1, then in a couple of months discover should send you a pre-approval . call it in, you should get approve .When you get a prime card , the rest will follow. I personally know 9 people who did this and won

But at most they would get a Cap One style limit right Irvine? Heck with a 760+ they gave me 4.5k so what are they going to give someone with no history?

Hey I wanted to ask you since you work there, that 4.5k limit kind of sticks in my craw, I know your company is "conservative" (so is Cap One) but anyway, if I pump some money through that will they do CLI or am I wasting time on it? Frankly I really like the Cash + card it's my "main" card in my mind, and I know Discover is NEVER going to approach the limit I have on that thing in 30 years, but I'd at least like to get the More over 5k in 6 months. If this is unrealistic, I won't bother with running money through it, I'd honestly rather put it in to the Cash + anyway as the rewards are great, their CS has been as good as Discover (which is great) and the limit is outstanding. Am I smoking crack here to hope Discover might loosen the strings a bit? I see people with 690 scores getting 8 or 10 k limits, and I get this when I have a lot higher limits, it's honestly kind of insulting. Discover is a really good company to be in with so that's why I'm trying to establish things with them, but to be honest, it's hard to think this is going to be my go-to card with a third the limit of my main.

Yeah I mean if ur using the card heavily and ask for a higher credit line , its be ok for us to do it... U can call and ask, or even say I would use your card more if you would increase my credit line... Wouldn't hurt to try!

I got approved without any credit history, other than a short term loan for $1000, that was paid off in 6 months. I have a $750 line of credit, i've had the card since late-June. I'm hoping I get a CLI pretty soon. I just applied for and got approved for an AmEx Green.
Discover More - $1000 (07/12)
Chase Freedom - $1000 (02/13)
American Express SPG - $2000 (08/13)
American Express Green Card - NPSL (12/12)
