Discover.com login glitch

Postby MemberSince99 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:52 pm

I went to access my More account online tonight - have the login saved as well as the password on the computer, entered the same usual information that's been working for months and no dice - 3 attempts and I was locked out.

Called customer service who insisted my login was all lower case and that's why. I can assure you that it was not all lower case previously so something obviously set it all lower case this weekend. Strange stuff. (I would assume an automated process of some sort rather than a person going in and doing it).

Anyone else see this before or am I the only one? Kinda annoying to be honest, I hope to not see a repeat.

And I may have set myself up for more grief in that I used the old Login with two upper case letters maybe in retrospect that wasn't smart.....works now but who knows if it will still work next weekend.....

Oh one final note of interest - the CSR had me enter my card number as my login. I can also assure you this does NOT work. I double checked it and no go. It had to be the login at least for me. Just in case anyone tells you that.....or again maybe it's just me....

that's what I do too - I store the Login in fact Firefox stubbornly INSISTED that I use the casing on the login which had been working - I could have deleted my cookies but that would have caused other hassles so I just switched to IE to get in.

Glad you haven't had issues hope I don't have more.

In thinking about it, I do have 2 Discover cards and they told me I am on the list to get the two merged into the same login. Just wondering if it might have something to with that process? Trying to think of a reason for this glitch and that came to mind as something possible. Or it could just be one of those things I guess.

Merging might help. Firefox should let you delete just the Discover.com cookies.

You mean you can only access one card per username?

I just logged in no problem. Since those who have a single Discover account seem not to be experiencing issues, I would imagine that account merger would be the culprit.
