McDonalds and Discover

Postby 432521 » Sat Jul 14, 2012 1:11 am

Is McDonalds and Discover in an agreement for a permanent 5% cash back when you use a discover card to pay? The 5% for restaurants just ended for discover, but the mcdonalds I usually go to has a little sign on the door that says you get 5% cash back if you use a discover more card, I am not sure if that's just a advertisement they forgot to take off the door and its from last quarters discover promotion or if its a permanent thing between the two companies

They change the signs and clean the fryer once a year whether it's needed or not.

I went through a McD drive-through during the Discover 5% restaurants period and they told me my card was declined so I used another. However, before and after that failed swipe the Discover card worked perfectly and still does. I thought at the time that they might have programmed their system to decline Discover during the 5% period. But I'm just paranoid, I guess.

McDonald's is definitely an eat now, pay later kind of place.

In a pinch, I'll go there for the organic Newman's Own coffee they sell in New England. But that's about it.
