okay i just talked to a discover rep and she helped me out a lot. Finally getting the one I want- its called the orange brighter. I can cancel the football design card correct? or would i just shred it up without calling them?

Does anyone have the design that says clear.. and then different colors. Is it really clear?

Yeah, give them a call because otherwise they will continue sending it as your card expires.

Those cards are clear. You can see the mag stripe through the Discover logo. I personally can't stand clear cards. I wish American Express would redesign the Blue cards not to be clear. They look so cheap.

I have the Open Road card and can change it to the More card (and back) online. It says they won't send a new card out though, so I would keep the blue dot design.

CC I gotta agree with you. The pictures of the Blue cards on the web look WAY different than the card you get in real life. I like the look of the Gold and even the Zync, but honestly I just don't personally care for the design of the Blue even if it is a prestige card. I was thinking I wish they would change it. Guess I'm not the only one.

Well and they seem to be even cheaper now than they were when they first came out. I believe when they first came out in 1999 they were a very light whiteish silver then they changed it to be clear. I got a Blue card on accident in 2005 (when I closed my Gold card they said they didnt want to lose me as a cardmember so they offered Blue; I accepting thinking it would be the same account and then when I found out it was new I freaked out and had them delete it form my credit bureau-this was before I knew about backdating) and it wasn't too horrible. It came with the smart chip too back then. But the one I got in 2008 looks awful. The blue square isn't centered correctly and the embossed name and numbers cause this like "ghosting" around the letter and numbers making it almost look like I made a homemade counterfeit version.

On the plus side they have finally added the Member Since year and they changed the American Express font from the Blue style to the normal American Express font. But yes, totally agree that what was cool in 1999 (like VW New Bettles and iMacs in different colours) is not cool in 2012. My ideal design would be if they used the design for the One Card only instead of the blue green it would be blue. I really liked the One Card because it looked like a futuristic version of the charge card. The centurian looked like he was etched by a laser.

My first experience with getting my brand new Discover card was awful!

I responded to a pre-approval over the phone so I didn't have any of the card images in front of me, so when the guy was asking me about my preferred design I said oh yeah, blue monogram sounds good.

A week or so later my card comes, and it's baby blue with bubbles in the background --ugh it was hideous! It wasn't the guy's fault though, and it makes for a good laugh lookin' back. I quickly ordered a replacement, I believe the space shuttle design, and I was good to go with that until

I just changed over to the Dawn of Discover design a little while ago. Gotta love the classics.
