FB, if you have a Chase checking, you can have rewards deposited to your account electronically.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

I'm going to consider this card. I have 3 on the radar: This, citi forward, and Amex BCP. I'm probably going to get rid of my AMEX gold and replace it with one of these 3 cards.

Discover is doing gas twice next year. Kind of nice; however, after this year having groceries for only one month, for 2012 Discover has completely done away with groceries.

Good to see that the original cash back card has noticed that they had fallen way behind and are becoming more competitive. Discover is a great company to deal with.

Chase Freedom is easy as well. They have a separate site called Ultimate Rewards where you can redeem points for cash, gift cards etc. Your choice goes into a shopping cart and then it is fulfilled.

Chase seems too sneaky for me. They make you convert your cash back to points then back into cash.

1Q: Chase is Gas and Amazon (!!!) while Discover is Gas and Entertainment (movies and museums as noted above).
2Q Chase is Groceries and Movie theaters while Discover is Restaurants and Movies; during this Q I'll use Chase for the groceries and Discover for Restaurants; otherwise no need for me to use Discover rest of year.
3Q Chase is Gas again and Restaurants while Discover is Gas and "Summer Fun," whatever that is.
4Q Chase is Hotels, Airlines, Best Bu and Kohls while Discover is "Holiday Shopping." Neither appeals to me in this case.

Considering the duplication of reward categories throughout the year, the wider acceptance of Visa over Discover and the fact that as a Chase customer my rewards are goosed up a bit because I have checking with them, there really is no reason to use Discover unless I exceed the Chase rewards cap, which I won't. I will pick up that second quarter restaurant bonus from Discover, though, and use the points, which probably would otherwise be stranded, to "pay with points" on Amazon.com.

what summer fun means is amusement parks, hotels and movies along with the gas.

It actually states Amazon.com. This leaves me wondering about Amazon Marketplace transactions. I have a Chase bill cutting on the 8th and I did some test purchases. We'll see...

Now I see how C.C. does it, disappearing edit function...

It seems I will not have to wait for the test to complete, it says they all count.
