I also got the email a few days ago. I already have the IT card, so I've ignored it so far. Time will tell if they send me a new card or not.

Interesting...
Just received a correction e-mail from Discover regarding the supposed account change:

"You may have received an e-mail on July 9 that said Discover was sending you a new card with a new rewards program within a few days. This message was sent incorrectly.

Discover is not sending a new card to you as no changes have been made to your account. We sincerely apologize if this message caused any confusion. "

Guess they must have received a few calls!

BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

Up to $35k, APR between 6.99% and 24.99% (as if that's a range someone could plan around).

I've no interest in the CD, either. I'll take a liquid 0.95% over an illiquid 1.15%.

I got the same thing today. And also the offer for a CD for 1.15% and a loan I didn't even bother looking at the terms for. Do people seriously lock their money away for a .2% gain in APY?

They've been sending me offers for student loans.

That's something I am not going to need again. Or want. I mean if I had things to do OVER I would NEVER do the 4 year thing it just is like rolling the dice whether or not that pays off these days. I'd do a vocational trade that is too expensive or impossible to send to slave wage 3rd world countries, and that they can't bring over legal or illegal immigrants to do, like say plumbing for example. Or HVAC. A lot of 4 year degrees are just totally a waste of money in terms of career since you'll get the same 8 buck an hour Walmart job with it as you would without it. Good luck paying off your loans then.

Now if you are already rich and just want to do the student thing, for personal growth, that's totally different. But then you don't need the degree for a career anyway.

Or a student loan, to begin with.
